When purchasing livestock from a broker you understand the risk associated with buying livestock privately o
Kill Pen horses that are bought often have little to no truthful information about their history.
We will not be able to provide you with any history other than what comes with them from the sale barn.
These horses are often stressed, and THEY WILL LOOSE WEIGHT. You will need to assess them once home for ulcers, sickness, under lying conditions, and behavioral issues.
We do our best to give you an assessment of the horse's demeanor, however horses can change once the environment changes. Some settle down and become more docile, and some get fat and sassy.
The reward to saving a life is totally worth the risk, associated with kill pen horses. But, please be realistic regarding live animals that we have limited truthful history of, that are exposed to sickness, and are stressed. The can loose weight standing depressed, and this isn't neglect on our part. They can get injured. They can be difficult to load, and handle when they are stressed. All of this can be addressed and fixed once they're removed from the kill pen and taken to quarantine or your horse to decompress.
PLEASE BE REALISTIC AND KIND WHEN SAVING A LIFE, DO NOT BE RUDE OR JUDGEMENTAL. That behavior is really a waste of time and energy.
