OUR FACILITY

Boarding & QUARANTINE

BOARDING INFORMATION

So, you have bought a horse from JT LIVESTOCK CO.

  • The next thing you need to know, is that your horse will be boarded here until it’s picked up.  We can also accommodate barn quarantine, if requested. However, we recommend turn out with friends, so horses can decompress, and be in a more natural environment.  Being in a social herd environment is often to most relaxing thing for a horse who has been through a lot of stress. (Our pens are 2-4 horses, they have water tanks, free choice hay, and gorgeous pipe fence, with 30x30 sheds) How horses quarantine in a herd environment is we only place horses together who came in together or were sold the same time frame to start quarantine and they are not introduced to any new horses while in that pen.

  • Technically your horse has been in quarantine since the day it arrived here, as it has not been exposed to any new horses. All horses do stay in a general population pen, until purchased. But they stay with horses they came in with.

  • Once purchased, it will go into a "sold" pen. If it has a pen mate, or two, they will be horses that it came with, or was vetted with. You can pick up yourself or you can hire transportation, but that’s step three so back to step!

  • We are not responsible for accidents, death, or injury of any horse in our care, after it's purchased. Unfortunately, with livestock, you cannot control their every move. You, as the owner, are also responsible for any vet bills a horse may incur after it's purchased, in case of sickness or injury.

  • Board starts the day you request an invoice. If you wait to pay, you still owe board from the time you request an invoice, as the horse is held.

  • $25 a day no discounts for any reasons.

  • We will not request your board until pick up, or until your hauler has made an appointment for pick up. You must be paid up, in full, for your horse to load. ((If your horse is staying longer than 30 days, we may bill you at the 30 days mark to catch up on expenses your horse has incurred)). But, you will still owe anything past that point at pick up.

  •  We accept cash and CashApp ONLY. Those are the only two forms of board payment we accept. If you don’t have CashApp, please arrange for your hauler to bring cash.

  • All horses are wormed upon being sold, and bathed (pending weather). We feed FREE CHOICE, Coastal Bermuda Hay, and if they need extra, they get grain. The amount they get, depends on if they require refeeding, or if they’ve been on a grain diet prior to coming here. Average horse gets 6.5 pounds of grain each day, some require more and refeed horses are started out on less.
